The Association for the Colonial Theatre (ACT) acquired its next door neighbor—The National Bank of Phoenixville—in 2011 and hired CEA to develop a master plan to seamlessly tie the theatre and former bank building structures together.

ACT was committed to restoring the bank's interior while keeping the original marquee entrance to the entire theatre complex. The plan called for creating a large lobby, two new live performance and cinema theaters, an expanded concession stand & bar and back-of-house spaces to support the existing, historic 658-seat auditorium. An outdoor roof deck and green roof were also incorporated into the design.

With the addition of two new theaters, ACT can now offer first-run movies and more live performances, which will increase revenue and offer more diverse programming to the growing Phoenixville community.
