Built in 1914, the stone Georgian colonial manse lacked a garage, so we were hired to design a 3-car, detached garage that would complement the existing architecture. The roof line, windows, and eave detailing take their cues from the existing home. The exterior materials, a slate roof and Wissahickon schist stone mimic the existing.
A few years later, we were hired again to design a pool house to replace the existing one that was deteriorated and inadequate for the client's needs. The pool house is clad in brick, which matches the brick garden walls on the property. A covered outdoor patio and functional indoor spaces serve summer guests and provide a wonderful place to entertain family and friends.
